We had recently been digging into the Pirate specialization from Dawn of Rebellion (page 104), mostly as a way to stat out characters like Hondo Ohnaka. But about a week later, we pulled a random character while playing Outer Rim: Unfinished Business—and landed on Enfys Nest.
Enfys Nest, Pirate Rebel of the Outer Rim
We remembered why she stood out in Solo: A Star Wars Story. One of the best reveals in any Star Wars film. A twist on the pirate archetype. And possibly one of the most compelling characters in the franchise.
Pirate, but Not for Profit
The Pirate specialization is built for selfish, cutthroat characters. But that’s exactly what makes Enfys Nest such a compelling twist.
“Pirates care about helping themselves, and they do not care how they do it.” — Dawn of Rebellion
Except—she does care: Enfys uses a pirate’s toolkit—speed, surprise, firepower—into weapons of resistance. The Pirate tree gives her a foundation, but she breaks from its cliches. So I wanted to figure out what her stats might be as playable character for Edge of the Empire, Age of Rebellion, and even a little Force and Destiny (the sourcebook for Pirate specialization is a FaD expansion after all.)
Insights from Outer Rim: Unfinished Business

The Enfys Nest character card from Outer Rim highlights two stats:
- Ground Combat: 3
- Skill Value: 4
Her abilities reward:
- Rolling for influence-based skill tests
- Building a crew with diverse talents
- Cancelling enemy hits during ground combat based on influence symbols
- Re-rolling influence results during skill checks
Personal Goal: Have at least 5 different skills among your crew
That fits her theme exactly—Enfys is a coalition-builder, not a loner.
Pulling from Scum & Villainy: Pirate Captain

We also took cues from the Pirate Captain NPC in FFG’s Scum and Villainy Adversary Deck.
Pirate Captain Highlights:
- Brawn and Agility 4
- Melee 4, Leadership 2, Coercion 3
- Adversary 2, Feral Strength 2, Knockdown
- Pirate Leader: spend a maneuver to grant a boost die to pirate allies
- Heavy gear loadout: heavy blaster rifle, vibro-ax, armored clothing (+1 soak, +1 defense)
It’s a great combat-oriented baseline. Enfys takes that frame and overlays it with purpose.
Enfys Nest’s Rebellion

From canon sources:
- She leads the Cloud-Riders, a swoop gang that raids syndicate operations
- She fought directly against Crimson Dawn
- She later works with Saw Gerrera and the Partisans
- She hands over refined coaxium to help fund early rebel activity
Her helmet says it all:
